The days-long search for a missing Warwick man has ended in tragedy after police located his body overnight.

John Henry Howard, 74, was found deceased overnight in the Warwick area.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed his death was not being treated as suspicious and a report would be prepared for the coroner.

Mr Howard was last seen at a Gore St home between 7am and 9.30am Tuesday.

His family members have taken to social media to thank emergency services and the Warwick community for their search efforts.

“The outcome has been very sad for the family and they ask for privacy at this time,” their post read.

Warwick police led a co-ordinated land and air search across the town on Wednesday, with crews continuing to scour the town and its surrounding areas on Thursday.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Warwick police on 4660 4444 or Policelink on 131 444.
