The region’s long-awaited 2022 show season is finally kicking off with a bang in Warwick this weekend, with a stack of exciting ag events and entertainment lined up over a huge three days. SEE THE FULL LIST.

The 2022 Warwick Show is rolling into town this weekend and is promising one of its biggest line-ups yet, with dozens of events stacked up for a massive three days of fun.

The beloved event at the Warwick Showgrounds will officially kick off the region’s 2022 show season following the cancellation or postponement of the Allora and Stanthorpe dates, showcasing the best livestock, produce, and country crafts Warwick has to offer.

From agricultural favourites such as the livestock judging and equestrian events to sideshow alley fun and arena entertainment, these are the events you just can’t miss at this year’s Warwick Show.

Livestock competitions

Producers from across the region will be bringing their best livestock to the 2022 Warwick Show in the hopes of walking away with a coveted prize ribbon and the prestige to go with it.

Prime cattle and sheep judging and sheep dog trials will kick off on Friday morning, followed by the prime lamb sale and cattle presentations from 2pm.

Friday afternoon and evening will also see Warwick’s next generation of producers come to the fore in the stud cattle young paraders and judges and stud sheep junior judging events.

Stud cattle and sheep will be the centre of attention on Saturday morning, followed by the poultry judging competition from 9am – 2pm.

Show jumping and horse ring events will also kick off early each morning throughout the Show.

Pavilions

The Warwick Show is known across the region for its stunning displays of country cooking, art, and photography set up through the Showground pavilions each year.

2022 is set to be no different with a vast array of horticulture, pottery and art, floristry, cooking, lapidary, and more from some of Warwick’s most experienced and talented creators.

WHEN: Friday – Sunday from 9am

Friday night arena spectacular

The first night of the Warwick Show is set to light up the main arena with an action-packed line-up of sports, motocross, and live entertainment.

The evening will kick off with the junior rep touch competition and Ray Bunch Machinery trotting heats before the official opening of the 2022 Show at 6.30pm.

Homegrown talents such as the Warwick Thistle and Pipe Band will perform throughout the evening in the lead-up to the massive draw cards such as the Carey Bros FMX Kaos Motocross Spectacular and Wickhams Freight Lines Demolition Derby.

It wouldn’t be a Warwick Show without an epic fireworks display to cap off the night of fun, so be sure to stick around towards the end of the evening to see the sky light up!

WHEN: Friday from 5.30pm – late

Animal nursery

Take the chance to get up close and personal with some farm favourites in the animal nursery at this year’s Warwick Show.

The favourite with guests young and old will be open at various times throughout the event.

Animals will also take centre stage at the beloved annual pet parade, where dozens of gorgeous pups and pets will strut their stuff in a bid to take out fun categories such as best-dressed pet, best trick, and best pet and owner look-alike.

WHEN: Pet parade on Friday, 11am (entries 10.30am); animal nursery on Friday from midday and Saturday from 1pm

Meet and greet with Warwick ambassadors

They’re the face of the next generations of agricultural shows in Warwick and wider regional Queensland, and guests can now have the chance to meet the 2022 Warwick Showgirl and her fellow rural advocates.

Newly-crowned Courtney Thompson will be joined by 2022 Rural Ambassador Denise Ryan and current Warwick Rodeo Queen Tamara Evans in hanging out with and inspiring current and potential future leaders in the industry.

WHEN: Saturday, 2pm – 3pm

Warwick Show Rodeo

The second and final night of the show will feature an epic and fast-paced evening of rodeo action.

Top competitors from across the Warwick area and wider Queensland will hit the Showgrounds arena to battle it out for the glory of victory across a stack of favourite rodeo events including bulls, broncs, and more.

Live entertainment is set to keep the party kicking on well into the evening, so be sure to pack your dancing boots!

WHEN: Saturday, 5pm – late

Tickets to the Warwick Show can be purchased online or at the gate. Adult tickets are $12, senior or concession $7, and children under 12 are free.

Family passes are also available for $20, a weekend family pass (two adults and one student) for $35, or a weekend pass for one adult at $20.

Entry to the Showgrounds will be free on Sunday.
