Warwick’s Hughes Elite Builders took home top honours for their modern architectural display home at the recent house construction awards.
Hughes Elite Builders Pty Ltd won two Downs and Western Housing and Construction awards at the recent Master Builders Awards for the best residential bathroom and best display home over $550,000.
Business owner Mark Hughes said he was delighted and shocked at winning the awards, having worked tirelessly for three years building and designing the home in the heart of Warwick.
Mr Hughes said the home’s modern design was chosen as homes in the region rarely have this coastal style.
“We definitely wanted ours to stand out and be different from others, by using different materials and design features,” he said.
What makes this home stand out is its exterior look with many materials, textures and colours used.
On the front exterior alone there is more than a handful of different high-quality materials such as stained local timber, stone, render, tiles and architectural iron cladding.
Inside the home features an open-plan living, high ceilings, speciality lighting that Mr Hughes described as eye-catchy as it is positioned in non-traditional spots.
Mr Hughes said their award-winning bathroom design was inspired by his and wife Jodie’s holiday to Fiji and Vanuatu.
The couple created a resort-style oasis bathroom featuring big opening bi-fold doors onto a forest garden, a large timber vanity and a freestanding bathtub.
