The residents of a Warwick home were lucky to be away from the property when part of their home caught fire.
Emergency services were called to an address on Wantley St just before 9pm Monday, responding to reports of house on fire.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said when the three crews arrived they found part of the structure was alight.
Firefighters found the blaze had spread to the roof and a search of the structure found that no one was present inside, the QFD spokeswoman said.
It is believed the residents of the property were not home when the fire started, with paramedics having attended the scene as a precaution.
The blaze, which is believed to have spread from inside the structure and up into the roof, was under control just after 10pm, the QFD spokeswoman said.
It is understood fire crews were able to have the fire fully extinguished just after midnight.
Fire investigators have so far determined the blaze ignited from within the kitchen, with the exact source still under further investigation.
