Police are investigating a suspicious fire that has destroyed parts of an Indigenous arts centre in a border town.

A spokesman for the Queensland Fire Department confirmed two demountable buildings at the Euraba Paper Company on the corner of Racecourse and Yeoman streets caught fire about 12.50am on November 26.

The company supports Indigenous artists in Aboriginal papermaking and has been a mainstay of the rural town since the 1990s.

NSW police have confirmed the fire is being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman from the NSW Police advised officers from the New England Police District have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fire and established a crime scene at the area.

Two QFD crews attended the scene alongside Boggabilla Rural Fire Service and were able to control the blaze by about 1.45am on the morning of November 26.

A QFD spokesman advised there was no reported damage to the site’s main building, with the fire contained to the two dongas.

However, the effected buildings were completely destroyed in the chaos.

It is understood no one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.

NSW Police are urging anyone with information, dashcam footage or any witnesses to contact Boggabilla Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
