MY COMMENT with Gerard Walsh
TODAY is a great chance for a Warwick reunion at the TAB Races at Allman Park.
Many people headed home to Warwick for a family Christmas and today is the chance to catch up with friends galore at the races.
Tuesday's meeting is one of only two TAB meetings in the year in Warwick, which means more races, more prizemoney and better quality racing.
Christmas is also the busiest time of the year for the churches of Warwick.
Many churches would have been full to overflowing Sunday night and yesterday as people thought about the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, the reason for the holiday break.
The highways have been busy, as have the shops, for what is a December with a difference in Sunday trading.
It has been another hot year and, might I add, dry.
We need a traditional wet season, rain and plenty of it in the first three months of the new year but not floods.
The year finished with a state election and well done to James Lister from the LNP, who succeeded long-time member Lawrence Springborg.
Most politicians from the bush would list agriculture as their dream portfolio and David Littleproud MP has achieved it in his first year-and-a-half in Canberra.
