Bachelor of Year in Tyson’s hot grasp

HE’S definitely got the look but it’s what’s under those chiselled abs that makes Tyson Mayr the favourite to be named this year’s Cleo Bachelor of the Year.

HE'S definitely got the look but it's what's under those chiselled abs that makes Tyson Mayr not only the whole package but also the favourite to be named this year's Cleo Bachelor of the Year.

Tyson has been named as one of 30 finalists in the competition, which pits Australia's hottest single men against each other.

The nomination tops off a stellar year for the former Swanfels boy and Assumption College student.

Earlier this year Tyson was named the winner of the Jauntaroo Chief World Explorer competition.

The former real estate agent battled it out against thousands of people from 99 countries to score the job of exploring the world.

Travelling is nothing new for Tyson, who has spent years jet-setting around the world.

He has even collaborated with charity RainCatcher to deliver filtered water to people where such a basic item is deemed a luxury.

Tyson is among the "average Joes" of the competition and will go head to head with heavyweights including musician Vance Joy, Central Coast Mariners A-League footballer Zac Anderson, Sydney Swans player Tom Derickz and actors Meyne Wyatt, Tim Phillips and Nic Westaway.

He has been named as the early favourite to be crowned the hottest bachelor later this month.

Cleo Editor in Chief Lucy Cousins told the Daily News Tyson was chosen as a finalist because he embodied Cleo Bachelor of the Year. "He is the consummate adventurer with a heart of gold," she said.

"Not content with travelling around the world, he set out to make the world just that little bit better by helping to bring clean drinking water to places that need it most. He's motivated, kind-hearted, a great role model, and um, he looks amazing with his t-shirt on and off."
