A 45-YEAR-OLD Bracken Ridge man has died after his ute collided with a truck at Whiteside, north of Brisbane, on Monday morning.

Queensland Police said initial preliminary investigations suggest a head-on collision between the two vehicles about 11.15am, about 1km north of the intersection with Scout Rd.

Emergency services were called to the scene but the driver of the ute sadly died at the scene.

Queensland Ambulance said the truck driver was not physically injured, and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

He said there had been a significant fire with a diesel tank well involved.

Crews managed to bring the vehicle fire and grass fire that ensued under control by 12.30pm.

At 12.48pm, a Queensland Ambulance spokesman said that paramedics had driven one stable patient to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
