Ute crash kills 19-year-old man, missing girl found after Bruce Hwy rollover

A man has died after a single vehicle crash just outside of Townsville this morning. It comes after another crash in north Queensland led to a missing teenage girl being found.

A 19-YEAR-OLD has died in a single-vehicle crash near Townsville overnight.

The ute rolled on Hervey Range Road near Rangewood this morning just after 12am.

The Queensland Police Service spokesman said it appeared the ute the man was driving struck a culvert and flipped on to its side, trapping the man who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

He died at the scene.

Hervey Range Road between Rupertswood Drive and West Road were closed this morning, but have since been reopened.

It comes after a Townsville girl who was reported missing at the weekend was found after a car crash on the Bruce Highway yesterday afternoon.

It is understood the girl, 13, was a passenger in a vehicle which rolled on the highway at Burdell about 5.30pm.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said a man, 18, was driving the vehicle.

It is understood there were a number of teenagers in the vehicle. Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries while another three declined transport. It is unknown if the 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital.
