Two women have been killed after a tree fell on their car in the Glass House Mountains.
The black hatch was driving south on Old Gympie Rd about 12.20pm Saturday when a large tree fell on top of it.
The driver, a 20-year-old Little Mountain woman and her passenger, an 80-year-old Glass House Mountains woman, both died at the scene.
The car, a Volkswagen, reportedly lost control after the tree fell and came to a stop in bushland off the road.
The roof of the small sedan appeared severely caved in, and was pulled off the car by crews for police to investigate inside the vehicle.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said they responded to the scene to reports a tree fell on a car with occupants inside.
Crews extracted the occupants and handed the scene over to police about 1.55pm.
