Two people have been charged with high-range drink driving following a traffic crash in Redcliffe last Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Oxley Ave in Margate at 7pm on November 9, following reports of a multi-vehicle traffic crash.

Investigations revealed a vehicle allegedly hit a second vehicle that was stopped at a red traffic light.

The driver then allegedly reversed and drove forward, hitting the stopped vehicle again at a slow speed.

After the collision, the driver allegedly swapped seats with the passenger and left the scene.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police attended and conducted patrols where they then located the vehicle in a nearby park.

A woman in the driver’s seat, at the time of being intercepted by police, was breath tested and returned a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) result of 0.213 per cent.

In Queensland, open licence holders must have a BAC lower than 0.05 per cent.

It is alleged that at the time of the crash, she was not the driver of the vehicle.

The person police say was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash was also located in the car.

Police conducted a breath test, which returned a BAC result of 0.338 per cent, more than six times the legal limit.

A 43-year-old woman from Morayfield was charged with driving under the influence and unlicensed driving.

She will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on November 19.

A 49-year-old man from Kippa Ring was charged with driving under the influence, unlicensed driving and failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash.

He will appear before Redcliffe Magistrates Court on December 17.
