Woman, 66, dead in crash at Griffin while man, 65, dies in Townsville crash

A 66-year-old Cashmere woman has died after a crash north of Brisbane. It comes after a 65-year-old Townsville man was killed in a crash late Friday.

A woman has been killed and another woman in a critical condition after a two-car crash in the Moreton Bay region.

A 66-year-old woman from Cashmere died in the crash at Wagner Road in Griffin at 6pm on Friday after her car and another collided head on.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 47-year-old woman had to be removed from her car and was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition.

A man in his 60s also died after a crash at Cape Cleveland, near Townsville, on Friday.

The man was travelling along Goodess Rd about 3pm when he lost control of his gold Holden Commodore and collided with a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In another crash, four people were treated for injuries after a vehicle crashed into a tree at Purga, just south of Ipswich, about 7.45pm on Friday.

Two people, a woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s, both sustained minor chest injuries and were transported to Ipswich Hospital.

Another woman in her 30s was transported in a stable condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A man in his 30s sustained head, leg, pelvic and suspected spinal injuries and was transported in a serious but stable condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Meanwhile, four people were treated on scene at Coorooman Creek, 40km northeast of Rockhampton, just before 1.30am on Saturday.

A man in his 20s suffered hip pain, while another man in his teens sustained an ankle injury and another teenager sustained pelvic, leg, arm and suspected spinal injuries.

They were all transported in a stable condition to Rockhampton Hospital.

A fourth man, in his 20s, was initially trapped in the vehicle, but was able to be retrieved.

He was treated for abdominal, pelvic and suspected spinal injuries and was flown in a serious condition to Rockhampton Hospital.
