THE Bruce Highway has been closed in central Queensland after a truck fire spread to nearby grassland.
The incident happened 80km north of Rockhampton and 20km south of Marlborough about 12.55pm.
The driver managed to get out of the truck safely and was believed to be unharmed.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire may have started underneath the vehicle before spreading to grass on the side of the highway.
Queensland police said the road was expected to remain closed for some time while firefighters work to control the blaze.
Drivers were urged to delay travel and avoid the area.
Meanwhile, two people have been injured in a motorcycle crash on the Sunshine Motorway at Mt Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.
Paramedics assessed a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s at the scene at about 11.53am.
Initially the pair declined transport by paramedics, but were later taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Traffic along the highway was moving slowly after earlier gridlock.
