Truck driver dead after serious horror at Rollingstone

A truck driver has died following a single-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway in the state’s north on Tuesday morning.

A truck driver died in a horror single-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway in Far North Queensland on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services crews responded to reports a semi-trailer had rolled onto its side at Rollingstone, north of Townsville, about 10.30am, with the male driver assessed by paramedics for critical injuries but he could not be saved.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the Bruce Highway was closed both directions for about 12 hours but reopened at 9.30pm on Tuesday.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
