THE Treasury Casino’s 24-hour LiveWire bar reopens today after a $1 million refurbishment that The Star bosses say is a taste of what the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf development will offer Brisbane.
The bar will reopen with an invitation-only event from 6pm before the doors are thrown open to the public at 9pm.
From then, it operates around the clock, employing 45 staff, Treasury chief operating officer Kelvin Dodt said.
The $1 million sports bar upgrade – that has memorabilia including a 2019 US Masters flag signed by Tiger Woods and an ice skate from Steven Bradbury’s 2002 Winter Olympics gold medal winning race – is the third stage in an 18-month, $8 million revamp to the Treasury.
The Black Hide by Gambaros restaurant was completed in July, followed by upgrades to the luxe VIP casino areas. The final section – a new Mei Wei Dumplings restaurant is expected to open by March, Mr Dodt said.
