Translink’s app glitch sends travellers 60 notifications at once
A technical glitch caused Translink to bombard commuters with more than 60 early-morning app notifications at once, with commuters left scratching their heads.
A technical glitch saw Translink send out a mass number of notifications to travellers early this morning, with one person receiving more than 60 notifications at once.
The person posted a video to Reddit scrolling through a mass list of identical notifications from Translink about the Beenleigh to Central train being delayed by 10 minutes.
“Wtf Brisbane translink? I thought I was getting a phone call,” the poster wrote.
When asked by another Reddit poster if it was the person’s normal train, the original poster said it was, but there was clearly a glitch.
“Yeah but usually it’s just one notification saying the train (sic) delayed, this is 60 saying the 6:45 train is delayed. I’m not even awake at 6:45 why do I want 60 notifications telling me that!” the poster commented.
The poster then commented below saying: “My partner reckons someone’s getting fired today the train delay button must be big and red.”
A Translink spokesman said the department was aware of the issue and were investigating why it happened.
“Translink is aware a service notification to customers who have Beenleigh Line saved in the Translink app as their favourite would have received multiple notifications this morning,” he said.
“These types of incidents rarely occur and when they do occur we investigate and remediate immediately. We appreciate customers feedback and patience.”
