Traffic chaos after six-car pileup on Gateway Motorway

Commuters leaving Brisbane faced afternoon traffic chaos after a six vehicle crash north of Brisbane forced multiple lane closures on a major motorway.

Commuters have been thrown into traffic chaos north of Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon after a six vehicle car crash resulted in multiple lanes closures on the Gateway Motorway.

Emergency services were called to the Gateway Motorway off ramp Exit heading northbound near Bald Hills after a six car pile up at about 2.30pm.

Paramedics and fire crews were on scene, however it is understood there were no entrapments and QAS were assessing multiple patients.

Three people were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, all in stable conditions.

One man in his 50s suffered a shoulder injury, a woman also in her 50s sustained chest and abdominal pain as well as minor burns to the arm.

All lanes were reopened by 3.45pm.
