TOWNSVILLE youth worker Ian Zaro got plenty of comedic mileage ranting about a car dumped outside his home — only to find out the vehicle had merely been parked there.

After the car was left outside his Townsville home more than three weeks ago, Zaro, who has appeared on the ABC’s Black Comedy sketch show, uploaded an hilarious video on his Facebook page, telling criminals to get a job.

“That car could have belonged to someone with a family, someone who had to take care of old people, and you just took their only method of transportation,” he said.

“’You wanna have a house, a car? Go to school and get an education. Get a job. Make money. Don’t go stealing!”.

At one stage Zaro heads outside his home where he points to a red car with a sign reading, “Police Aware”.

“’Do you know how that looks?’, he says. ‘We’re just gunna steal a car and leave it in front of a black man’s house.”

Zaro told The Courier-Mail on Friday that he had just discovered the car had been parked there and it had not been abandoned or stolen.

“Apparently someone is picking it up today,” he said.

“The person said they left it there but it doesn’t make sense, there’s no back seat … the police sign is there and the look of it and there’s damage.”

Zara says he posted the video because Townsville is getting bad rap because of a crime wave.

Ian Zaro’s rant has been viewed more than 250,000 on his Facebook page.

There’s no shortage of praise for Zaro’s latest offering on his official Facebook page which has more than 68,000 followers.

However, the James Cook University student has been trolled as well but has gone out of his way to expose “the youth” who have tried to bully him.

Zaro posted an exchange and then apologised to his followers for dragging them in to it.

“Sorry to post this guys, I’m not bothered but this is just another lesson to youth, especially these children that bullying is bad. Don’t dish it out cause there will be a lot of people to give it back to you especially online.”
