Tostee calls police for help claiming woman assaulted him

HE was acquitted of murdering his Tinder date — now Gable Tostee has allegedly been assaulted by a woman.

HE was acquitted of murdering his Tinder date — now Gable Tostee has allegedly been assaulted by a woman.

Police and paramedics were called to Tostee’s Gold Coast home yesterday after reports of a disturbance.

It’s understood Tostee, now known as Eric Thomas, complained that the woman was ‘going off’ and had assaulted him.

Police said a woman was taken by ambulance to Robina Hospital for a mental health assessment after threatening suicide.

Police sources said Tostee was being treated as the victim in the incident.

A police spokesman said investigations were continuing.

The Carrara property is owned by Tostee’s parents, Gray and Helene, who were at the Supreme Court daily to support him during his two-week murder trial in 2016.

A man who answered the intercom at the gated estate would not comment to The Courier-Mail.

Warriena Wright, a 26-year-old New Zealand tourist, plunged to her death from his 14th floor Surfers Paradise high-rise balcony in August 2014, just hours after hooking up with him on the dating app Tinder.

Tostee was acquitted of her murder and manslaughter after a dramatic trial which heard how he had bizarrely recorded their entire date, including drunken and violent sex, on his mobile phone.

The harrowing three-hour audio recording was used as key evidence by both the prosecution and defence during the trial.

Tostee claimed he was physically attacked by Ms Wright and locked her out on his balcony in a bid to subdue her.

The Queensland Coroner’s office has said it is continuing to investigate Ms Wright’s death and has not ruled out an inquest.

The Coroner could recommend fresh charges against Tostee but would first have to uncover new and compelling evidence, legal experts say.

Tostee maintains he has nothing to fear from any inquest as he was found not guilty by the Supreme Court.

Last month, Tostee took to Facebook to attack ‘screeching fembots’ he claimed were obsessed with ‘victim blaming’.
