You can’t discuss top caffeine dealers in southeast Queensland and not mention the venue that took out one of the top spots in the first ever 100 Best Coffee Shops in the World award this year.

First opened in Brisbane’s CBD in 2014, Coffee Anthology was named the eighth best in the world, and as the venue credited with kickstarting the city’s specialty coffee obsession, it’s not hard to see why.

Now on Mary St, Coffee Anthology is known for serving up an incredible rotation of top notch roasters.

For those keen to finetune their own coffee making skills, Coffee Anthology’s sister cafe, roastery and training facility, The Maillard Project, is just up the road.

It doesn’t get more hardcore for coffee lovers than the state’s only 24/7 coffee shop, Death Before Decaf.

Started by a couple who shared a love of heavy music, tattoos and coffee, it has become a staple for those seeking high-quality coffee without the fuss.

It’s an eclectic mesh that’s for sure, between the heavy music and skater vibes, paired perfectly with the rich coffee culture and expertise.

If the setting (and hours) aren’t enough to sway you, the talented duo also created their own roast that “captures the essence of the hardcore music scene” and tastes phenomenal.

The cafe also has two collaboration blends with bands Northlane and August Turns Red.

This quaint cafe and bar in a heritage listed building on Charlotte St, named after the early 20th century printer and stationer John Mills, is a must for the true coffee-snobs among us.

John Mills Himself has firmly cemented itself as a favourite for city-dwellers and office workers.

With its hidden entrance giving every bit of Melbourne-laneway-coffee-haunt vibe so many Brisbane millennials crave, this hole-in-the-wall gem is well worth the complicated journey, with its truly smooth espresso and ever-lovely staff.

Plus for those with a sweet tooth, the cafe has a small but mighty array of pastries and cakes sourced from local suppliers.

Coffee on the Sunshine Coast doesn’t get more authentic, and divine, than The Colombian Coffee Co.

After relocating from Medellin in Colombia, the owners missed the pure, quality coffee from their home country, and decided to go all in, launching their first coffee shop in Mooloolaba, followed by a roastery in Buderim and recently, two more cafes in Maroochydore.

They now supply their own coffee to cafes across Australia, but lucky locals get to enjoy the fruits of the team’s labour direct from the source.

TCCC have strong focus on the wellbeing of Colombian farmers and on bringing some positive press to a region that is often marred by conflict.

If you ask a Goldie local where the best brew on the coast is, more often than not you will hear the word Vector.

This cozy little Southport spot features beans from Byron Bay roaster Therefore Coffee, who focus on creating a positive impact for coffee growing communities and families through their framework of paying premium prices, forward buying beans and donating a portion of sales to various overseas coffee community fundraising initiatives.

Joining those incredible blends is an ever rotating schedule of single origin beans, delectable all-day breakfast and some of the best bagels south of the city.
