Footage has emerged of two shocking brawls at Toowoomba schools, including one between two female students and the other of a violent shoe robbery inside school grounds.
In one video uploaded to a public Instagram page and since been removed, a male student is punched several times in the head by his peer.
He was told to “take off his f***ing shoes”, to which he says “what did I do?”
At the end of the video, the student takes off his shoes and the other student walks away with them.
The Courier-Mailunderstands the incident was filmed and posted on a public Instagram page which uploaded several videos of assaults/ fights between juveniles in the Toowoomba region.
It has since been deleted.
Another video shows two female students from a different Toowoomba school hitting each other while other students watch on filming and cheering.
It is unclear when the incident took place, but was posted on the same Instagram page on March 27.
A spokesman for the Department of Education said the incident involving two male students occurred roughly two months ago, while the incident involving two female students did not occur this year.
“School administrators deal with incidents like these in line with the Student Code of Conduct,” the spokesman said in a statement.
“No further details can be provided due to student privacy issues.
“Students and caregivers with concerns are strongly encouraged to report cases of bullying
or misconduct that occur outside of school to the Queensland Police Service.”
The videos emerged following horrifying vision of a Harristown State High School student being assaulted just metres from the school grounds.
In the footage, the student ends up lying motionless on the ground after the assault, and the teenage boy then attempts to remove his shoes.
A Department of Education spokeswoman said the school’s understanding was that the incident happened outside the school grounds and after school hours, during the first term of the year.
Footage of the attack showed it appeared to have happened on Memory Street.
She said the assault was not reported to the school, nor was it reported to police.
Police are investigating footage of the Harristown incident.
