Brisbane locals have “cracked the sh-ts” as they allege that a pet owner in a Newstead apartment complex is flinging their furry friend’s faeces off their balcony and onto the street below.
A resident in the complex took to social media on Monday to denounce the filthy act, stating he had been struck by poo thrown from the apartment complex.
“Whomever is routinely throwing dog poo from their ... balcony to the footpath below in Newstead, your behaviour is absolutely appalling,” he said.
“I’ve seen it fall before, today.. you got me.
“When I find out who you are, expect similar treatment, understandably.
“Use your designated refuse area, or put your pet up for adoption.”
Civic Cabinet Chair for City Standards Kim Marx agreed that this pet owner’s actions were “disgusting”
“These allegations are disgusting and Brisbane City Council is more than happy to work with the body corporate of this residential building to hold this person accountable and pursue them for littering,” she said.
“We all need to be responsible pet owners and do our part to keep our city clean, green and sustainable.”
According to Brisbane City Council’s website, failing to pick up and correctly dispose of your animal’s droppings when in public can result in a fine of $287 as of July 1 2022.
