Tickets back on sale for FIFA Women’s World Cup games at Suncorp

A six-year-old Matildas’ fan hopes to have a second chance to see her idol Sam Kerr in action in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brisbane after being lucky enough to watch the Aussie women take on Canada last year.

Tickets for the highly-anticipated FIFA Women’s World Cup will go back on sale on Tuesday, offering punters the chance to see Sam Kerr and the Matildas up close.

Nearly 650,000 tickets have been snapped up for the blockbuster tournament hosted in Australia and New Zealand that features eight matches in Brisbane.

With just 100 days to go until the tournament kicks off, fans who missed out on earlier ticking windows can have another chance to secure their seats.

Suncorp Stadium will host eight games across July and August, including the Matildas group-stage clash with Nigeria and the third-place final playoff.

For Matildas’ fan Maggie Cawcutt, it’s another chance to see her idol Sam Kerr in action for the second time.

The six-year-old was lucky enough to watch the Aussie women take on Canada last year.

“I would be very excited to watch them again,” Maggie said.

“Sam is such a good striker.

“They stayed behind and walked around the stadium and we got to see them and meet them.

“I missed out on getting my jersey signed so hopefully this time I can.”

Maggie is in her first year playing for the University of Queensland Football Club, where she emulates her heroes on the pitch.

The tournament will feature 32 teams from around the world, including Australia, England, France, Brazil and the top-ranked USA.

Tickets go back on sale from noon on Tuesday and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

They are subject to availability.
