The Wiggles set to return for a Queensland tour in April

Attention little – and big – kids of Queensland. The expanded cast of The Wiggles will tour the state with a series of intimate shows in April. Find out how to get tickets.

The Wiggles are packing up the big red car and heading back to Queensland.

After the runaway success of their national tour last year, which earned the popular children’s group the ARIA Award for best live act, The Wiggles have announced they will return to Queensland for a string of shows in smaller venues in April.

Opening in Ipswich, Hello! We’re The Wiggles will feature original hits as well as new favourites from the expanded Wiggles cast, including Getting Strong! with John.

The Wiggles will tour Queensland in April

The Wiggles will perform at Eatons Hill and Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane before travelling to Logan, Redcliffe and Redland while North Queensland dates are due to be announced soon.

While second yellow wiggle Evie will miss the tour, the expanded touring group includes Anthony, Tsehay, Simon, Lachy, Caterina, Lucia, and John, joined on stage by their cast of Wiggly friends.

“We get to do smaller venues and we’ve got more Wiggles than ever; it’s been so much fun creatively in the biggest way,” Brisbane-born Lachy Gillespie said.

“Already you see people falling for the new Wiggles, like John, you see children turning up with little dumbbells.”

“When you put a show together, I’ve loved it because creatively there’s more voices.”

The Wiggles will tour Queensland in April

Gillespie said performing intimate shows was the perfect follow-up to the success of the larger venue tour last year, which earnt them two ARIA wins by the end of 2022.

“A lot of us got quite emotional; we do over 300 shows a year and I don’t think people know that necessarily,” he said.

“The smaller venues you get to be up so close and get to see how much the children enjoy it. I stand up front on piano and I almost have conversations with the parents; and I love that because there’s so much more connection.”

“Every show is different. It’s a really special time for The Wiggles as a performing group and people will feel that.”
