BRISBANE is now home to Australia’s best steak restaurant.
The city’s iconic Gambaro family have been seafood experts for more than 60 years, but now they have shown they can also cook an award-winning steak.
Black Hide Steakhouse restaurant at Caxton St, Petrie Terrace, has been crowned Australia’s best steak restaurant at the 2016 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence – beating top restaurants such as Sydney’s The Meat & Wine Co at Circular Quay, and Rockpool Bar & Grill in Western Australia.
It’s the second time the Gambaros have won the title, having previously been awarded it in 2014.
Following the win on Monday, Black Hide Steakhouse Director John Gambaro said he was delighted to be able to say Queensland has the best steak restaurant in the country.
“The Gambaro Group has been a seafood family for over 60 years so we are absolutely thrilled to be recognised as the nation’s leading steak restaurant,” he said.
“It’s such an absolute treasure to have managed to get this award back, especially when we are competing with larger states.
“It’s a real honour and is testament to the hard work of our wonderful team and our loyal customers, as well as our paddock to plate ethos.”
Black Hide Steakhouse is the sister restaurant to the iconic Gambaro Seafood Restaurant and exclusively serves Stanbroke Beef.
The Gambaro Group also includes the luxury boutique hotel Gambaro Hotel, also on Caxton St.
