It will be live streamed on Sky News and hosted by the broadcaster’s popular presenter, Paul Murray.

Future Resources is a new editorial and event series from The Courier-Mail, exploring the sector’s outlook in Queensland and showcasing the economic, employment and innovation it brings to the state.
The series is sponsored by Bravus, Whitehaven Coal, the Queensland Resources Council, the Queensland Government, Senex, Coal Australia and the Australian Energy Producers.
Demographer Simon Kuestenmacher, from The Demographics Group, will deliver a keynote address on the outlook for the state’s resources, global industry trends and the sector’s ongoing role in Queensland.

“There is no bigger, more important sector to Queensland than the resources industry,” The Courier-Mail editor Chris Jones said.
“It directly employs nearly 80,000 people and delivers more than $85 billion to the state economy.
“It is Queensland’s engine room, providing employment, revenue and community outcomes across the state. Critically, 70 per cent of jobs are in regional Queensland.
