The CEO of the exclusive Brisbane Club has stepped down after a little more than a year in the job.
Ted Stewart announced his decision to “move on” on Monday.
The hospitality industry stalwart, a long-term member of The Brisbane Club, was appointed its CEO in 2023 after being approached by the board initially to help find a cellar master.
Mr Stewart, a property lawyer and hotelier, said he would be taking up a new role closer to his home on the Sunshine Coast.
The Brisbane Club is a private members-only institution with a long waitlist. Founded in the early 1900s, it was the first club to accept women as full members with voting rights.
