A Tesla has been destroyed after slamming into an ambulance in front of shocked workers in Brisbane CBD this afternoon.

Police had to close off parts of Ann St after the black Tesla smashed the ambulance and a series of poles before coming to a stop on the footpath, about 3pm.

A photo taken by a passer-by captured the front end of the Tesla obliterated, with its airbags engaged.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said two paramedics were injured in the incident which allegedly occurred after the driver of the car suffered a medical episode.

Ambulance officers on bicycles cycled to the area to attend to the injured but said all three victims were stable and being treated at the scene.

“Multiple crews are on scene, three people are being assessed, including two stable paramedics with head and neck injuries,” a QAS spokesman said.

“The third person is believed to have suffered a medical episode that has resulted in the collision.”

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police responded to the scene.

“Shortly after 3pm, a black sedan struck a number of poles before crashing into the back of an ambulance between Edward St and Albert St,” the spokesman said.

Police said traffic was being diverted around the incident.
