A boy in his mid-teens has been driven to hospital after being hit in the head by a small boat, risking drowning.
Paramedics were called around 4.38pm to Stanley Pocket Rd in Crossdale to reports of a possible head strike with a canoe, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
She said the boy may have had a period of immersion following the head strike.
He was transported in a stable condition to Ipswich Hospital.
Several supercell storms were tearing through south east Queensland around the time of the incident, but paramedics were unable to confirm if it was related to the storm.
Camp Somerset on Lake Wivenhoe is one of very few landmarks on Stanley Pocket Rd, and regularly hosts school aged kids.

Calls to the site, and others on Stanley Pocket Rd were not returned.
