Teen rushed to hospital after middle-of-the-night motorbike ride goes horribly wrong

Two boys have been rushed to hospital, one in a serious condition, after two motorcycles collided in the middle of the night in the Lockyer Valley.

A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after two motorcycles collided in the middle of the night in the Lockyer Valley.

A police spokesperson said initial inquiries suggest three 14-year-old boys were travelling on two motorcycles along Hannant Rd, Kensington Grove, about 1.30am on Saturday.

While riding, one of the boys’ lost his cap from his head.

The driver of one of the motorcycles attempted to retrieve the hat but crashed into the back of the other motorcycle.

One boy was flung off the bike and lost consciousness.

The other boys flagged down a passing car who called emergency services to the scene.

Critical care paramedics assessed one boy for a serious head injury and another for a lower limb injury.

The boy with a head injury was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

A second boy was taken to Ipswich Hospital in stable condition with a lower limb injury.

Investigations are continuing.

No charges have been laid.
