Survivor speaks out on OnlyFans creators targeting schoolies

A child sexual abuse survivor has spoken out against two OnlyFans creators who plan to target “barely legal” high school graduates at Schoolies, saying this kind of behaviour is not just opportunistic, but predatory.

A child sexual abuse survivor and Activist has spoken out on the OnlyFans creators who plan to target “barely legal” high school graduates at Schoolies this month.

Survivor and activist Harrison James who has thousands of followers on his social media, said as someone who had experienced child sexual abuse and now campaigned for youth protection he found the situation “deeply alarming”, even if the planned sexual activity is consensual.

“As a male survivor of child sexual abuse at the hands of my stepmother, I understand first-hand the devastating impact of adult exploitation and manipulation of young, impressionable people,” he said.

“When I hear about what’s unfolding at Schoolies – adult content creators planning to take advantage of newly-turned 18-year-olds – it hits me deeply.”

Mr James said these teenagers were barely adults and are still navigating their sense of self and boundaries.

“Mainstream pornography has already heavily conditioned many young men, making them believe that sexual encounters equate to validation and social status,” he said.

“This dangerous notion leaves them vulnerable to predatory behaviour [by those] who are capitalising on these boys’ insecurities and desires for acceptance.”

Mr James said throughout adolescence, young boys, particularly, are frequently exposed to damaging messages through mainstream pornography that reinforces harmful beliefs – that their worth and masculinity are tied to any sexual conquest.

“When OnlyFans creators like Bonnie Blue and Annie Knight specifically target quote, “barely legal” boys in environments like Schoolies, it exacerbates a pre-existing issue: the societal grooming of young men to equate any sexual encounter, even if it’s exploitative, with status and validation,” he said.

Mr James said this kind of behaviour was not just opportunistic, but predatory.

“How can we be certain that no underage or impaired individual slips through the cracks and becomes a victim of predatory behaviour?”

Mr James said the environment was further complicated by alcohol and the emotional intensity of the celebrations.

“The current safeguards and age verification processes are not foolproof, and the stakes are too high when dealing with young people navigating new-found independence. Without rigorous vetting and safeguarding measures, which haven’t been thoroughly stated, the risk of serious exploitation is substantial.”

He said his aim was to ensure that conversations about the issue prioritised the safety and wellbeing of all youth and that as a society we held accountable those who might exploit these vulnerabilities.

“Frankly, I don’t believe we’re doing enough to protect any children and young people in Australia.”

“Schoolies should be a celebration for these young people, not an environment where predatory behaviour is normalised or glamorised.

“The fact that adult content creators like Bonnie Blue and Annie Knight are planning to exploit this event shows how easily the vulnerability of teenagers can be manipulated.”

Mr James said Meriton Suites should “absolutely not” allow this to take place.

“Meriton Suites, like any responsible accommodation provider, has a fundamental duty of care to ensure that its premises are not misused in ways that jeopardise the safety of young and impressionable individuals.”

“By allowing adult content creators to operate during Schoolies, they risk blurring the lines of safety and exposing teenagers to potentially predatory environments.”

He said the approach was not only ethically questionable, but also reflected a concerning trend where profit is prioritised over the wellbeing of youth.

“Companies have a moral obligation to protect anyone on their premises, guest or not, particularly when those on their premises are at a formative and vulnerable stage in their lives.”

Mr James said he wanted to make abundantly clear, that his opposition to Bonnie Blue and Annie Knight is not a moral crusade against sex work or pornography.

“I never want to shame anyone who creates or consumes pornography; this is about shining a light on the exploitation and manipulation of vulnerable young people, particularly boys, who are conditioned from adolescence by harmful cultural narratives.”

“This is about addressing how predatory behaviour is masked under the guise of consensual content and emphasising the need to protect youth from being taken advantage of at events like Schoolies.”

In a post on his TikTok page, Mr James called Meriton Suites to alert them to the matter as a “concerned citizen”.

Meriton Suites has been contacted for comment.

Mr James called for education around porn literacy and to challenge the notion that for boys and young men, all sexual encounters were the ultimate form of social currency.

“We need to implement straightforward, engaging educational programs that help young men understand that their value and identity do not hinge on sexual conquests,” he said.

Mr James said education would include discussing the impact of mainstream pornography on perceptions of masculinity and relationships.

“By fostering critical thinking about the content they consume, we can empower young people to recognise harmful narratives and promote healthier, more respectful attitudes toward relationships.”

“Moreover, we should create supportive environments where discussions about exploitation, boundaries, and mutual respect are normalised.”

“Empowering young men with this knowledge not only enhances their understanding of healthy masculinity but also helps create a culture where every individual feels valued beyond their sexual experiences.”
