TWO Queensland men have died in separate worksite accidents within a four-day stretch.

A 29-year-old Surfers Paradise man died at Origin Energy’s Reedy Creek site at Yuleba North about 8.45am on Monday.

It is understood the man, who worked for WDS Limited and was a subcontractor for Origin Energy, was found with a bad gash to his head following a possible crash and could not be revived.

WDS Limited confirmed the death in a statement. CEO Terry Chapman said he was shocked and saddened by the death of the man and appropriate steps would be taken to investigate the incident.

“Nothing is more important to WDS than the safety of its workers and we will work with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland to thoroughly investigate all aspects of this tragic event,’’ he said.

The mining site was temporarily shut down following the incident.

The tragedy follows the death of a worker in unknown circumstances at Eurombah Creek on Friday.

According to the Surat Basin News, the 34-year-old man was found dead in his room at an Ostwald Brothers site after failing to show up for a meeting.
