Two teenage boys have been charged after a car was allegedly driven at a police officer in Caboolture last night.

Two teenagers have been charged after a car was allegedly driven at a police officer in Caboolture last night.

The 15-year-old boys will appear in the Caboolture Children’s Court on August 17.

About 11.40pm, police investigating a traffic incident in which one of the vehicles allegedly failed to stop, noticed a vehicle drive past the Caboolture Police Station.

Police pursued the vehicle and during the course of the pursuit it is alleged that the car was driven at a police officer, striking his hand.

The car also allegedly struck a police dog squad vehicle on two separate occasions.

The vehicle stopped after a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on the Morayfield Road overpass, where the two male occupants were arrested without further incident.

One was charged with serious assault on police, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, fail to stop, wilful damage to police property and obstruct police.

The other was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

The police officer received bruising to his hand but did not require medical treatment. The police vehicle sustained minor damage.
