Wild weather to smash Sunshine Coast in coming days
Potentially severe thunderstorms containing large hail, heavy rain and damaging wind could smash parts of the Coast in coming days, according to the bureau.

Potentially severe thunderstorms containing large hail, heavy rainfall and damaging winds could smash parts of the Sunshine Coast in coming days, according to the weather bureau.
Forecaster Peter Markworth said the wild weather could hit the region as early as Tuesday but the main threat appeared likely on Wednesday.
The bureau has no official warnings in place as of Monday morning however Mr Markworth said all the ingredients were there.

“Particularly Wednesday, with the possibility for it to be severe, mainly inland,” Mr Markworth said.
“You can’t rule it out (being severe), all the criteria is there.
“Whether each individual cell can create enough energy to get organised it remains to be seen but it’s likely all the three main criteria.”
Mr Markworth said large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall of between 50-60mm were all possible in coming days.
He said Monday was due to be fine and sunny with maximum temperatures of 26C for Maroochydore.
From Thursday the storms were due to gradually clear.
