NEW boogie boards and beach cricket sets will get a workout over the coming days with stable, sunny skies setting in.
Meteorologist James Thompson said conditions would remain "pretty stable” across the region for the next few days, with only partly cloudy conditions at times and maximum temperatures of 27-28C.
Easterly winds carrying a bit of moisture will deliver some isolated showers along the coastal fringe but only light falls were expected.
Mr Thompson, a forecaster with the Bureau of Meteorology, said there could also be a bump in swell over the weekend, driven by the easterly winds, up to 1-1.5m.
He said that could mean some waves available in the very early morning for surfers at protected pockets around the region.
Winds would remain moderate to fresh over the next few days.
The New Year's forecast was looking favourable at this stage too, with temperatures to increase to maximums of 29-30C on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
