PARTS of the Sunshine Coast woke up to a fresh morning with temperatures close to single digits but the mercury has risen steadily since.

Temperatures were a cool 12.1C at Beerburrum and 13.9C at Sunshine Coast Airport, according to the Bureau of Meteorology gauges at 6am.

Forecaster Kimba Wong said this morning would likely be the coldest morning of the week but temperatures would stay fresh.

"It was a cool morning but things have warmed up pretty quickly," she said.

"That will be the coolest morning of the week with a wind stream making temps warmer at night.

"Quite fine conditions are expected for the next few days with 27C maximums expected every day.

"There is just a slight chance for showers on the weekend."

It comes after the Coast reached 32C on Saturday, six degrees above the average maximum temperature for April.

Ms Wong said it was "pretty hot", but not record breaking.
