A successful doughnut shop owner is opening her second store on the Mooloolaba esplanade to satisfy customers’ hunger for her sweet treats.

Vanessa O’Neill opened The White Oak cafe in Buderim three years ago before rebranding with a “fresh vibe” and new name of Dough Ho in March 2020.

The Buderim Dough Ho store sells out of their decadent doughnuts almost every day, with between 600-1200 doughnuts gobbled up daily.

“I have been wanting to open a second store for a while now, the only question I had was ‘where?’,” Ms O’Neil said

“I tossed up between Caloundra, Kawana or the Esplanade at Mooloolaba.

“I feel as though the Esplanade could benefit from a shop like Dough Ho as they have plenty of gelato just no other sweet options.”

The new Mooloolaba store will require $100,000 in renovations.

“It was most recently an office space so does need to be converted to a food business shop front,” she said.

“I am so excited to open this second store because I have worked so incredibly hard to build this business up to where it is today and I feel as though it’s time to expand.”

Ms O’Neill told the Sunshine Coast Daily she was “so grateful” for the success of her flagship store and how supportive her regular customers had been.

“I am overwhelmed day in day out of how supportive the Buderim and Sunshine Coast community is,” she said.

“My customers feel like friends and are just as excited as I am.”

Dough Ho Mooloolaba is set to open on November 12, with $2 doughnuts for the entire day.

Alongside the crowd favourite doughnuts will also be brownies, loaded cookies, cupcakes and bubble waffles.
