US SENATORS probing possible links between Russia and the Trump team have been told to "follow the dead bodies” as they hunt for evidence of the Kremlin's involvement in last year's presidential election.

Appearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee, national security expert Clint Watts said several Russians linked to the investigation into Kremlin disinformation activities had been killed in the past three months.

The alleged murders were carried out not only in Russia, but in Western countries as well, Mr Watts said.

Meanwhile, the lawyer for President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn has told the congressional officials investigating the Trump campaign's potential ties to Russia that his client was willing to be inter- viewed in exchange for immunity from prosecution.

Mr Flynn's ties to Russia have been investigated by the FBI and continue to be probed by the House and Senate intelligence committees.

He was sacked in February after he failed to disclose talks he had with Russia's ambassador before Mr Trump took office.
