A SEVENTEEN-unit proposal has been put to the Sunshine Coast Council to develop a prime site in Mooloolaba.

The application lodged on behalf of Naroo Projects Pty Ltd seeks to develop 17 units at 1-3 Naroo Court, Mooloolaba.

The site had a previous approval in March for 13 units.

One of the two blocks has already been acquired by the council for road widening and upgrade works to Walan Street and to extend Naroo Court to connect with Muraban Street.

The low-density residential street is set to be transformed by the proposed development, which had a maximum height of 25m above ground level.

The developers have proposed to construct 13, three-bedroom units and four, two-bedroom units.

Each unit has at least 12sq m of balcony and the ground level features communal living space including a pool, decking and seating area.

Each unit would have one parking space and there would be four visitor parking spots.

The application was submitted on December 20.

Last week a nearby resident raised concerns about whether she would receive her compensation, after the council resumed her home to make way for the new road connection between Naroo Court and Muraban Street.

Gwen Salisbury had until February to vacate her home of 40 years, but said she was yet to see a cent of her compensation and feared she would get less than her home was worth.

The council said it would pay market value as decided by an independent valuer, as to pay more would be an irresponsible use of ratepayers' money, despite earlier saying the resumption would be paid for by a combination of infrastructure charges provided by developers, with a minor contribution coming from general revenue.
