At least two people have been injured after bricks were thrown off an overpass on the Sunshine Coast.

Several police units were called to the Sunshine Motorway overpass in Buderim at about 1am Saturday after reports a group of men were spotted throwing projectiles onto cars driving below the bridge.

A man in his 40s suffered chest injuries when one of the bricks ricocheted off his truck mirror and hit him while a teenage girl was injured when a brick hit her car windscreen.

The man was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital while the girl declined transport.

A police spokesman said several crews were called to the scene, but no suspects were located.

The investigation is ongoing.
