THE Buderim community will band together to pay it forward for our Queensland farmers in need.

Nine acts will perform at the Buderim War Memorial Community Association's musical variety concert to raise funds for those affected by the recent drought and floods.

Flamenco dancers, the Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra and school children are on the list to dazzle at the coming

event.

Secretary Jenni Campbell said members of the Buderim community were able to feel the sting of the natural disasters.

"We're just so fortunate to live where we do, but a lot of people in this area originally came from the bush so they have an understanding of what the farmers are going through,” she said.

Ms Campbell believes the idea to help the farmers was a no-brainer, as their "job is to help others whose needs are greater than ours”.

"It's just the Aussie way of being each other's mates, caring for our community and doing our bit to help,” she said.

President Carol Marks said they wanted to provide support for others outside of Buderim.

"We do a lot of things in our own community, but we felt we needed to do something outside of our own and broaden our horizons.”

The musical variety concert will be on March 16 from 2.30pm at the Buderim War Memorial Hall.
