FROM pedal-power to horsepower...what a difference a week makes at Tewantin's Gyndier Drive.
While triathletes from around the nation were clambering up the bitumen last week as part of the Noosa Triathlon, on Saturday petrol heads will take their turn on the prestigious hill.
"The Hill", a historic hill climb organised by the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club and the Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland, has attracted a strong contingent of entries.
There will be a broad range of makes and models on show, including Skeltas, XU1s, Minis, Fiats, GTs, Jags and open wheel hill climb specials.
The hill climb will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 10 and 11. On track action starts about 8am on both days with more than 150 competitors.
This year's event starts at the Tewantin Noosa RSL on Friday at 6pm with some pre-event entertainment for competitors, officials and their guests.
Regarded as one of Australia's premier hill climb courses, the weekend is loaded with lots of thrills and spills.
There are many spectator areas for you to catch the action with catering and a licensed bar provided.
Access to the start and main pit area can be gained by entering at the bottom Gyndier Drive off Noosa Cooroy Road, access to the finish line area can be gained via the top of Gyndier Drive off Sunrise Road. There is a pathway through the bush that follows the track and allows viewers to access the spectator areas.
Parking is available at the Tewantin Sports Ground with a shuttle bus to all entrances.
Buses run from 8am-5pm. Day tickets are $15, or $20 for the weekend.
