The Coast’s brightest young stars have the opportunity to turn their big idea turned into massive success through this year’s Generation Innovation Challenge.
The 2021 competition is open to anyone living on the Sunshine Coast aged between 15 and 25 that wants to see their idea turned into a reality through the help of mentors and Coast business members.
The GI Challenge is a peer-on-peer challenge with the winner receiving a $10,000 prize package to help launch their dream business.
Generation Innovation founder Ted O’Brien said he couldn’t wait to see what this year’s participants bring to the table.
“Every year I’m amazed by the calibre of the budding young entrepreneurs we unearth through the GI Challenge,” said Mr O’Brien.
“The business ideas they are coming up with are becoming increasingly sophisticated each year and I’m really excited about meeting the 2021 cohort.”
The GI Challenge is free to enter and a select group of participants will be given the skills, training, and professional contacts to help them start to build their dream business.
Mr O’Brien said the helping hand that was offered to the participants was sometimes just what they needed.
“You might have a fantastic idea but no idea how to get it to market,” he said.
“That’s where the GI Challenge comes in, to provide guidance and advice on how to conceptualise and design a business and turn it into a reality.”
