The driver of the Pajero, a 36-year-old man, and a three-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital in a stable condition. It’s believed the driver suffered abdominal pain.

The 38-year-old female driver of the Mazda and two children, aged 12 and four, were also transported for further medical treatment. It’s believed the driver suffered pelvic injuries.

Part of the Sunshine Motorway were closed for several hours as the forensic crash attended the scene.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have dashcam vision to come forward.
