A man who was arrested by police after he was chased through bushland for alleged domestic violences offences has been named in court.

Specialist Sunshine Coast police officers charged the man, who was rocking only boardshorts and mullet after chasing him through bushland for hours, following an alleged DV incident and armed robbery starting in Gympie.

Michael Gerring had his matter mentioned by duty lawyer Michael Robinson on Wednesday and his matter was adjourned to September 27.

On Tuesday morning, specialist Sunshine Coast police officers were investigating an unfolding alleged domestic violence incident with reports of a daycare lockdown and the dog squad on the scene in the Baringa area.

Police will allege the 23-year-old man had been on the run since Sunday following an alleged DV incident and armed robbery in Gympie on August 4. The man has also been linked to an incident on July 20, police say.

For about four hours on Tuesday police tracked him through bushland near the Baringa and Little Mountain area.

Eventually, the dog squad found the shirtless, shoeless man hiding in bushland off Aura Link Rd. Police were able to find and arrest him through properties on Koala Crt, Little Mountain.
