Customers around the country may be left thousands of dollars out of pocket following the collapse of a Sunshine Coast shed building company.
Mooloolaba-based Transportable Shade Sheds went into liquidation on Monday, April 3, owing more than $1.3m to suppliers and creditors and leaving some customers with half-built sheds.
Robson Cotter of Robson Cotter Insolvency Group said there was at least $1,372,696 owed to about 160 trade suppliers and creditors.
“And at least that amount again in customers with partially or fully incomplete orders,” he said.
“The amount potentially owing to customers with partially or fully incomplete orders delivered is currently unquantified.”
Mr Cotter also said staff were owed money in superannuation or holiday pay and other costs.
According to Australian Security and Investment Commission documents Robert Salomon, originally from the United Kingdom, is the company director.

The company’s online presence detailed that the business was run by Mr Salomon and his wife Kylie.
The manufacturing company offered Australia-wide delivery of sheds and buildings.
A Facebook group for affected customers has been flooded with comments, with some claiming they have paid $25,000 for sheds that have never been delivered.
Beenleigh resident Chris Reed fears he has lost $6000 after ordering a shed from the company to cover his campervan.
“It’s quite amazing when you hear the stories of what other people have gone through,” he said.
Mr Reed said he felt sick when he found out through Facebook that the company was in liquidation.
“My wife and I had saved for quite some time to be able to afford this,” he said.
“It’s extremely stressful at the moment and I’ve never been in this position.”
A liquidator report showed that there were six companies set up as a group of related entities including Sable Labour Hire Pty Ltd, TSS, Vanquish Holdings Pty Ltd, Bend-Tube Design Pty Ltd, TSS Dealers Pty Ltd and Tochlo Pty Ltd.
“The affairs of the companies are intertwined such that there is intercompany payables and receivables between multiple entities that require investigations and potential recovery between entities,” the report read.
The Sunshine Coast Daily has attempted to contact TSS but had not received a response by deadline.
