RESULTS, REPLAYS and MATCH REPORTS

Grand Final  - St John's College v Nambour State College girls

St John's College girls have capped an undefeated season with premiership glory after defeating Nambour State College.

St John's were first to strike, going 1-0 up in a hotly-contested opening half.

Nambour came out strong in the second stanza eager to level and had plenty of chances at goal.

However, St John's never took their foot of the pedal and slotted their second midway through the half before sealing the deal with their third with just five minutes left.

Nambour were valiant in their efforts, never giving up, but St John's proved too good to get the 3-0 win.

Grand Final - St John's College v St Teresa's College boys

UPDATE: 6.15pm: St Teresa's has taken out a thrilling grand final over St Johns after the match descended into a penalty shootout.

While St John's looked the more dangerous side to begin with, St Teresa's soon got into the groove and fought back in the opening stages of the decider.

Both sides had plenty of attacking plays, with shots either just missing or being gobbled up by the goalkeeper.

However, despite their best efforts the match finished 0-0 and entered a penalty shootout.

Both sides traded blows to keep the crowd on edge, with the shootout going down to the final kicks.

St Teresa's nailed all five of their goals, but on the very last penalty shot St Johns skied the ball over the net to give St Teresa's the victory.

Semi-Final - St John's College v Siena College Girls

UPDATE: 5pm: St John's girls have maintained their dominant season with a convincing semi-final victory over Siena in the girls division.

St John's were firing early, nailing two goals.

However, Siena came out determined in the second half, scoring early to have scores 2-1.

They held strong for much of the second stanza but St John's never went away, scoring midway through the half and again in the final minute to finish with a 4-1 triumph.

They'll take on Nambour State College in the grand final, after Nambour defeated St Teresa's 2-1 in the other semi-final.

Only games on Field 1 will be broadcast, with two semi-finals and two grand finals livestreamed. See the schedule below.

Replays of the games will also be shared on the Daily's website after the matches.

St John's College and Siena College will feature in the streamed semi-finals, with the winner of St Teresa's and Nambour State College to face off with one of them in the boys and girls grand finals.

It'll be third time lucky for the students, with their first two attempts at finals quashed by wet weather and COVID-19 restrictions last month.

The finals will be hosted by Maroochydore Football Club.

St John's College football co-ordinator and Sunshine Coast Schools Football president John Calvo said he was looking forward to the day.

"We're super keen to get the kids back on the pitch and finish the season and competition on a high," he said.

St John's head into the finals day as favourites in the boys and girls divisions having been undefeated in all five of their games.

Calvo said his girls were particularly fired up to hit the field after losing the previous two grand finals they'd featured in prior to the start of the new league.

"Even though they've had killer seasons they've always in the last grand final struggled, so our girls are really keen," he said.
