Sunshine Coast rooftop fall: Man rushed to hospital after fall from Nambour home

Critical care paramedics have rushed a man to hospital after a fall from the roof of a Sunshine Coast home, the third serious fall incident in the region in three weeks.

An elderly man has been rushed to hospital after falling from the roof of a home in Nambour.

Critical care paramedics were called to Macquarie Ct, Nambour, about 9.30am Wednesday, August 3, 2022, to reports of a man injured after falling from the roof of a house.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 80s was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with chest injuries.

The spokeswoman said the man had fallen about 3m from a private residence and it was not understood to have been a formal job site.

She said the man had been alert and conscious when he was taken to hospital.

It comes after the tragic death of Palmwoods grandfather Greg Brown, who died after he fell 5m-10m from the roof of a Mill Ln, Nambour business and suffered critical head injuries on July 14, 2022.

Less than a fortnight later a man reported to be in his 20s was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition with head injuries after falling from the roof of a Sunrise Rd, Eumundi home in a workplace incident.

He was stabilised in hospital.

Workplace Health and Safety had been advised of the incidents involving Mr Brown and the Eumundi job site.
