Sunshine Coast police investigate Mooloolaba house break in

Police are investigating after two youths broke into a Sunshine Coast 97-year-old grandmother’s home and smashed a glass window while a toddler was asleep inside. DETAILS HERE.

Police are investigating after two youths broke into a Sunshine Coast 97-year-old grandmother’s home and smashed a glass window while a toddler was asleep inside.

Initial investigations indicated two people entered the property on Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba, about 10.50am on Sunday, November 10.

Police believe they away when confronted by the grandmother.

A glass window was damaged and some property was stolen, but found nearby shortly after.

The grandmother’s daughter took to social media to share the details of the intrusion.

“We had a break in ... at my 97-year-old nan’s property in Mooloolaba while my daughter was napping in her room,” she said.

“The suspects were caught on camera.

“Police came to the house and put out cars searching ... they were laughing as they clambered over the fences and ran towards the river side of the wharf.”

Police are appealing to anyone with information or CCTV footage of the area at the time to contact police.

No one has been arrested or charged.
