Sunshine Coast crash: Multi-vehicle prang closes Nicklin way lanes

Five people have been taken to hospital following a crash on Nicklin Way.

UPDATE: Five people have been taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following the crash on Nicklin Way at Buddina.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said all were in stable conditions.

He said a woman had suffered a fractured ankle with the other four having minor injuries including whiplash.

The scene has been cleared, with lanes reopened to southbound traffic.

EARLIER: A multi-vehicle crash has closed the southbound lanes of Nicklin Way, with delays expected.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said crews were called to the scene outside Kawana Shoppingworld, Buddina, at 8.10pm on Tuesday.

He said the southbound lanes had been closed with police diverting traffic through the shopping centres car park.

The spokesman said a car had ran a red light crashing into another vehicle.

Four police cars and one fire truck are at the scene.
